ACPES is an international scientific meeting which was originally named the ASEAN Universities Conference on Physical Education and Sport Sciences (AUCPESS) which started in 2011. Changes and developments in the dynamic situation since July 8, 2014 on the occasion of the delegation meeting at the 4th International AUCPESS in Singapore, AUCPESS decided to expand and was called ACPES (ASEAN Council of Physical Education and Sport) to accommodate more aspirations, scientific concentration, and expression of the sports community. This conference brings together academic experts and practitioners from Southeast Asia and beyond to share new knowledge, ideas and experiences related to Physical Education and Sports.

The ACPES conference has joint networking with Srinakharinwirot University Thailand, Mahasarakham University Thailand, NIE Singapore, NTU Singapore, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology Philippines, Kasetsart University Thailand, Chulalongkorn University Thailand, Institute of Technical Education Singapore, Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia.  Universitas Negeri Semarang, and Sekolah Tinggi Olahraga  & Kesehatan Bina Guna.

Sekolah Tinggi Olahraga dan Kesehatan Bina Guna is a university that became a member in 2020  and has been actively participating in the ACPES conference since 2017. Sekolah Tinggi Olahraga & Kesehatan Bina Guna consistent to send participants along with scientific papers that are ready to be published at the conference in the form of proceedings or journal publications. This year, STOK Bina Guna will be hosting the 8th ACPES International Conference in Medan, Indonesia.

Issues that will be discussed at the 8th ACPES International Conference are physical education (including teaching, assessment, curriculum, and administration and management), sports science (including sports pedagogy, sports psychology, sports biomechanics, sports coaching and training, and sports management), and health (including health education, public health, and sports nutrition). This conference is welcome to synergize with various sports components and ideas from experts to make maximum contribution to the development of physical education and sports.
